Cases filed against six MLAs in High Court

IMPHAL | Apr 21

Altogether, six separate cases have been filed against six sitting MLAs mostly from Congress with the High Court of Manipur.

The cases were filed by different individuals alleging that the MLAs have used false affidavits while filing their nomination papers during the recently concluded 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

The MLAs against whom the cases were filed include Kakching MLA Y Surchandra, Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshwar, Sagolband MLA RK Imo, Wangkhei MLA Okram Henry, Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar, all from Congress and Moirang MLA P Sharatchandra (BJP).

The petitioner of the case who filed the case against Y Surchandra is identified to be M Rameshwar, Mohendro against Th Lokeshwar, Dr Loken against RK Imo, Y Irabot against Okram Henry, Nimaichand Luwang against Shyamkumar and Prithiviraj against P Sharatchandra.
