CCpur police intensifies drive

CHURACHANDPUR | April 21

SP Rakesh Balwal assured that the effort of the police against drugs, alcohol and illegal marketing will continue.

Talking to reporters the SP stressed that black marketers in Churachandpur have records of the seizure of 992 litres of petrol, 478 litres of diesel, 30 litres of kerosene and 22 cylinders of LPG from 8 shop around the town beginning from Tuibong till New Lamka's Lanva bridges.

The seizure of LPG gas has been common, especially after the UNC blockade was initiated last year, said the SP.

The SP further said that there will be a meeting soon under the DC of the district where the LPG distributor and petrol pump owner and district supply officer (DSO) will be participating to ponder on the reason why so many illegal fuel had flooded the black market, when consumers are crying foul at the shortage of the same.

Rakesh Balwal also said that a marathon will be organised soon with a theme focusing on anti drug use to bring awareness to the people.

Moreover, the SP further stated that the discipline of the police personnel is very much needed and he will not tolerate any discrepancy in discipline of the police personal quoting the suspending of an SI rank officer last week's for the same.
