Zillai condemns gangrape

The office of the Vaiphei Students’ Association, general head quarter has strongly condemned the gangrape incident of the two school girls on April 14.
A statement issued by the students body, said that the girls who were attending the Cheiraoba festival on the fateful evening of the April 14 within the state capital could be considered one of the darkest moment in the history of the state concerning the safety of women in particular.
The Zillai condemned the incident in the strongest terms and also expects the concerned authorities to award befitting punishment in accordance with the law of the land, it said.
Terming the incident as ‘disgusting crime against humanity’, the Zillai said it must not have a place in the society.
The Zillai also appealed to all civil societies and the mass to walk in tandem in bringing justice to the innocent victims and to prevent the possible nightmare in the future.
